South Africa sets pace in mechanizing agriculture

South Africa's agricultural industry is considered one of the key pillars of the economy. It employs more unskilled labour than any other sector in the country. The industry contributes 3% to the countries GDP, which equates to around $10 billion annually. It is by far the most developed agri-sector on the continent. CCTV's Travers Andrews reports that Western Cape's agricultural sector has seen an uptake of mechanization over the years as farmers begin to wean themselves off an uncertain labour market and adopt a more self sufficient approach to doing business.
