NYS innovators unveil electric tuk tuks and hand carts

One of the purposes of the National Youth Service is to support innovations. Kenneth Guantai is an innovator (and also currently the Head of Innovation and Research at the NYS) who decided to find a way to replace the ‘mkokoteni’ handcarts and the tuktuks with a better version that would stop pollution and other health hazards posed. His journey began in 2015, and eventually he has come up with a new version handcart and an electric tuktuk. Kenneth explains that his tuktuk innovation has more road capacity, and much interestingly, does not use fuel but recharges itself, compared to the normal one. The electric handcart also has more road capacity and one does not have to use too much energy
