Maria invites the audience on a journey of self- reflection as she shares her story on how dismantling her Kikuyu privilege in the face of racism taught her about the similarities of the privileged. Her experience with racism brought her face to face with her ingrained traits of privilege; a common thread of attributes that run through most members of privileged groups. She learned that the very pain and humiliation she felt due to racism, she had knowingly or unknowingly meted to another in her own country.
